Fun game but boring story

The game itself is fun but the story to you doing everything you do gets bland quickly. Im on episode 27 (yes I know, Ive just been getting rid of it and redownloading it often) and the only characters who appear in story mode is Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Omochao, and the animals. I think it would be a tad bit more fun if it introduced more characters into the story to give it some flavor while they still make pay for only or roulette only characters keep their way of being gained. They dont have to be unlocked by the story at all is what Im trying to say.
